The Mobile Video opportunity is also commonly referred to as PreRoll. The video ad is immediately followed by site video content. Maximum duration of video ads is :30 seconds and shorter durations are also accepted.

Digital Submissions (Preferred)

All digital video files must have a screen size of 512×288 or higher.

Preferred Format (SD)

  • DV(25) video with uncompressed 48khz stereo audio at 16 or 24 bit sampling rate. 512×288 for SD (Anamorphic if 16×9)

HD Files

  • We can use most Quicktime compatible High Definition source provided as a digital file.
  • Quicktime compatible HD codecs may include:
    Uncompressed 10 bit
    DVC Pro-HD
    High-quality H.264/AAC (.mov, .mp4)

Acceptable QuickTime Files

  • DV(25) video with uncompressed 48khz stereo audio at 16 or 24 bit sampling rate. 512×288 for SD (Anamorphic if 16×9)
  • 8 bit or 10bit Uncompressed Video with 48khz stereo audio at 16 or 24 bit sampling rate. 512×288 for SD (Anamorphic if 16×9)
  • H.264 (mpeg 4 , part 10) video( 2500 kbps min.) with stereo AAC audio (128 kbps min.) at 44.1khz. Data rate must be 2200kbps minimum. (.mp4, .m4v, .mov)

Acceptable AVI Files

  • DV video with uncompressed 48khz stereo audio at 16 bit sampling rate.
  • Uncompressed AVI with uncompressed stereo audio at 16 bits.

Acceptable Windows Media Files

  • Hi-Def WMV files may be accepted, minimum screen resolution is 640×480. Audio must be stereo 44.1khz. 2500 kbps bitrate min.

Examples of Unacceptable Files

  • Note: this is a partial list based on recent files that have been rejected:
  • Quicktime video files using Sorenson, Cinepak, or H.263 codecs.
  • Flash Video files (.flv)
  • Real Media files of any kind (.ram, .rm)
  • AVI files with MP3 audio
  • DIVX or XVID files.

Additional Details

  • Disney Online reserves right of final approval on video submissions
  • All video submission needs to be legally cleared for use online
  • Please do not include meta data/slate for each segment as they cannot be removed by Disney

General Guidelines

  • Site reserves the right of final approval on creative assets.
  • The advertising content must be clearly identifiable as an advertisement, as opposed to a link within site content. Advertisers must be clearly identified by name in at least one frame of the advertising content.
  • Ad units that have a white or partially white background must be bound by a visible one (1) pixel non-white box built into the graphic. Creative must still meet size specifications with border.
  • All advertisers must have a privacy policy, no more than (one) 1 click from the linking page to the Ad unit.
  • Ad units must have a linking URL that resolves to an active page.
  • All Flash and third party creative must open a new window.
  • Placeholder or non-final ad content will not be considered as “proxies” for final creative.
